Eric is inducted into the Indiana Journalism Hall of Fame

The IJHF was founded in 1966 at DePauw University by the Indiana Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. The IJHF annually inducts active, working journalists as well as those with past careers. As the organization's mission statement reads, inductees are "individuals who have demonstrated over a number of years that they are journalists of the highest distinction; that their dedication and contribution to journalism have in turn contributed to the regard others have for journalism," and that "their contributions to journalism have had a significant impact on the political, social, economic or cultural life of their communities.”

Eric keynotes the Regan Lecture at Santa Clara University

The Regan Lectures are presented by the Makkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University. They are aimed at bringing the larger community to SCU to hear top-flight speakers on ethical issues in many fields. Past lecturers have included tech journalist/podcaster/author Kara Swisher and Leon Panetta, former White House chief of staff and former director of the CIA.
